Peacock is the latest streamer to raise subscription prices, something that seems to be becoming a tradition in the SVOD world. This comes less than a year after the first price increase.

Starting in mid-July, subscribers will have to pay an extra $2 for the ad-supported Peacock Premium and the largely ad-free Premium Plus plans, making them $7.99 and $13.99 per month, respectively. The annual plans saw a $20 increase to $79.99 for Premium and $139.99 for Premium Plus.
On paper, Peacock’s new pricing puts it in range of major streamers including Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. But in reality, Peacock doesn’t come close to matching those platforms in terms of subscribers, despite growing its base to 34 million by 2023.
As we learned last week, the streamer is still struggling to turn a profit, with parent company Comcast reporting a $639 million loss for the first quarter of the year. Granted, that was technically good news compared to the $825 million loss it reported in the final quarter of 2023.
