Viggo Mortensen says Amazon's “greed” ruined the release of Ron Howard's Thirteen Lives.
Ron Howard on Thirteen Lives and Viggo Mortensen's Influence on the Diving Scenes
Thirteen Lives is a 2022 survival biographical film about the Tham Luang cave rescue. Mortensen played Richard Stanton in the Howard-directed film, which also starred Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, and Tom Bateman.
The film was released in select theaters in the United States on July 29, 2022, and was released on Amazon Prime Video on August 5.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Mortensen said he felt it was "disgraceful" that Thirteen Lives had not received a wider release.
