Kathleen Finch, head of U.S. networks at Warner Bros. Discovery, is retiring at the end of the year. Channing Dungey, chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, will succeed her.

News of Finch's impending retirement comes shortly after Warner Bros. Discovery released its second-quarter earnings results on August 7, which revealed a major devaluation in the company's cable networks group.

Finch joined Discovery in 2018 as part of its acquisition of Scripps Networks (the original home of the now 30-year-old Food Network), where she was a top programmer. She became one of Zaslav’s top executives in the pre-merger with WarnerMedia, overseeing Discovery’s 12 lifestyle brands, including HGTV, TLC and Food Network.

After the birth of Warner Bros. Discovery in April 2022, Finch was given oversight of nearly all U.S. networks, including the so-called "T-Nets", TBS, TNT and truTV, and Cartoon Network/Adult Swim.
