Warner Bros. Drops Genndy Tartakovsky's R-Rated Animated Film
According to a recent report from Variety, the rights to the film have reverted to Sony Pictures Animation, who will now seek new distribution plans for the film. Variety notes that it is unclear whether future plans for the film include a theatrical release or a simple direct-to-streaming release.
Fixed features Adam Devine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Bobby Moynihan, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Michaelle Bureau, and River Gallo in voice acting roles. The film follows the story of Bull (Devine), a bloodhound who goes on an adventure after discovering he is about to be neutered.
Tartakovsky and Warner Bros. have a long history, with Tartakovsky behind some of Cartoon Network's most popular shows, including Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack and most recently Primal. Tartakovsky also worked with Sony for many years, directing all three Hotel Transylvania films.
