Providence took a significant equity investment in Wasserman in 2022, and Murray has worked with the firm on significant transactions over the past few years. He started a few weeks ago and is still based in Boston.
“Steve’s nearly 15 years of experience sourcing, structuring and executing highly complex and transformative transactions, combined with his deep knowledge of the sports, music and entertainment industries globally, are a perfect fit for our firm as we look to accelerate our acquisition pace in this next phase of our growth,” said Elena Rochelli, Wasserman’s CFO. She said Murray has worked closely with the firm, knows it well and “will play a leading role in Wasserman’s growth strategy going forward.”
“I am excited to formally join Wasserman and be part of such a talented team,” said Murray. “I am eager to contribute to our next phase of growth and pursue new M&A opportunities to expand Wasserman’s services, capabilities and geographic presence. There is a tremendous opportunity to drive M&A and growth within the firm and I look forward to helping drive this future success.”
