Members of the House of Representatives denied claims that the four-member committee's investigation into the illegal activities of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), the distribution of illegal drugs and extrajudicial killings is politically motivated.

Antipolo City Rep. Romeo Acop, Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers and Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante said the fact that the investigation concerns incidents that occurred during the Duterte administration is only incidental.
“We are not in that business, yung magkaroon ng or sasali kami sa isang political quarrel. No. We are here to do our job,” said Acop, a vice chairman of the House Committees on Dangerous Drugs and on Public Order and Safety.
“And our job is to find out if the laws we passed in Congress are properly implemented by the executive branch. We pass laws and the executive branch will implement these laws,” the Antipolo lawmaker added.
