Senator Grace Poe has observed a decline in SMS fraud since President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. imposed a total ban on all Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

Poe called the blanket ban that Marcos announced during his third State of the Nation Address on July 22 a “great step forward.”

“So the president's words that legal and illegal POGOs are no longer allowed have had a huge impact in some ways, at least in terms of the scams that we receive,” Poe said during a rally in the plenary session.

Poe then urged her colleagues to support a measure that would completely ban POGOs in the country.
