Wesley Snipes gets flowers after his unexpected appearance in the MCU.
Wesley Snipes Reacts to Record-Breaking 'Blade' Return
Guinness World Records announced this week that the actor took home two titles when he reprised his role as Blade in his recent cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, after introducing the live-action character in his first solo film in 1998.
Returning nearly 26 years after he first played the half-vampire "daywalker" (aka Eric Brooks), Snipes edges out Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman for the longest career as a live-action Marvel character. Having first played Wolverine (aka Logan) in 2000's X-Men, Jackman was expected to edge out Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier for the title with his final appearance.
With over 19 years since his last appearance in Blade: Trinity (2004), Snipes also claims the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films. Alfred Molina previously held the record with his return as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), 17 years after Spider-Man 2 (2004).
