Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee and the nation’s current vice president, appeared on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, October 8. Over beers with the host, Harris weighed in on a wide range of topics during the 40-minute interview. She discussed the 2023 war between Israel and Hamas, the report on her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump, sending COVID-testing machines to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and her favorite soccer team.

During her most recent appearance at New York's Ed Sullivan Theater, Harris shared a can of Miller High Life with Colbert, with the host revealing that the former had chosen the specific brand in advance. "Okay, the last time I had a beer was at a baseball game with Doug. So, okay, cheers!" Harris said before taking a sip.
Since the drink originally comes from Milwaukee, the most populous city in the famed swing state of Wisconsin, Colbert joked, "So that covers Wisconsin." He added, "OK, let's do Pennsylvania. Eagles or Steelers? And nobody's going to be mad." That prompted a diplomatic response from Harris, who picked the San Francisco 49ers.
The conversation turned to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. “We need a ceasefire and a hostage deal as soon as possible,” Harris said. “This war has to end. It has to end” (via The Guardian ). She also mentioned meeting with the families of hostages and Palestinians killed in Gaza. “We need a deal and we are not giving up,” she said.
