The model recounted the terrifying day: "Shortly after I won Miss South Africa, about three months later, I was on my way to an event as the official Miss South Africa. And I was stopped at a red light. And before I could even blink, I was surrounded by five men, multiple men, and some of them were armed."
Tebow recounted how she took self-defense and driving lessons as a child under her father's instruction, which helped her in that situation. She said, "It's hard to know exactly what to do. But I knew two things." The model continued, "In that traumatic situation, I knew I shouldn't go to the second destination. And so I tried to run. I tried to get out of that vehicle. The man on my side of the vehicle grabbed me, pushed me back into the vehicle and said, 'Get in, you're coming with us.'"
