Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog's knee injury dates back to 2020. In 2020, Landeskog injured his knee after being hit with an ice skate. Although the incident left Landeskog with cartilage problems, the winger continued to play until 2022.
Landeskog opted for knee surgery following Avanlache’s Stanley Cup win. Despite many believing he would return to the ice in 2023, Landeskog has yet to return to the ice. The captain underwent a cartilage transplant in 2023 and is currently in rehabilitation. He last played a game in June 2022.
