However, Oprah Winfrey's best friend Gayle King has now revealed details about the talk show host's illness and the reason she was taken to hospital.

Although Winfrey was unable to attend the show, Gayle King, her best friend and fellow CBS anchor, appeared on the show and updated fans on Winfrey's condition. According to the Los Angeles Times, King said, "She had some kind of stomach problem — stomach flu — stuff coming out of both sides." Given the nature of the health issue, she didn't want to get "too graphic" and divulge more details.
