The San Francisco 49ers have suffered yet another setback in their 2024 NFL season with the injury of Talanoa Hufanga. Fans are increasingly concerned about the team’s fitness, especially with a growing injury list. One of the most notable fitness concerns is Hufanga’s recent ailment.
Big 49ers Update: Shanahan on Robert Saleh and Sorensen, Another Injury to Talanoa Hufanga
Talanoa Hufanga suffered a wrist injury in the first quarter of the 49ers' Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals on October 6, 2024.
The injury occurred during a routine defensive play and Hufanga immediately showed signs of discomfort, leading to his early exit from the game. After initial examinations on the sideline by the team's medical staff, he was escorted to the locker room for further evaluation. Shortly thereafter, the 49ers confirmed that Hufanga had torn ligaments in his wrist and would not return to the game. (via 49ers Webzone)
The injury further hampered Hufanga’s challenging season. After recovering from a torn ACL that caused him to miss much of the 2023 season, Hufanga was scheduled to return in Week 3 of 2024 but faced additional setbacks, including an ankle injury before Week 4. His wrist injury in Week 5 now threatens to sideline him for an extended period.
