Triptii Dimri’s debut film Laila Majnu is gearing up to make a much-awaited return to theatres in Kashmir. The romantic drama, originally released in 2018, will be re-released on August 2, 2024. The news comes as Bollywood films are gaining popularity in the region, following the successful reception of Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar.

Laila Majnu, featuring the scenic beauty of Kashmir, is all set for a special re-release at Inox Srinagar. This decision comes in the wake of rave response to Rockstar, another film that featured the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir. Inox Srinagar announced on Instagram, "#lailamajnu. Due to the overwhelming love and appreciation that #Rockstar has received from film lovers across the #KashmirValley, we have decided to release Laila Majnu, which was also shot in Kashmir, from Friday, 2nd August. Pre-bookings will be available soon."

Laila Majnu is a modern adaptation of the classic Persian tale of Layla and Majnun. Directed by Sajid Ali and presented by Imtiaz Ali, the film stars Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri in the lead roles. The storyline follows star-crucified lovers Qais (Avinash Tiwary) and Laila (Triptii Dimri), whose romance is confronted with societal and familial obstacles.

The excitement for the re-release is palpable among the cast and crew of the film. Triptii Dimri shared her excitement on Instagram and said, "Superrr excited about this (heart eyes emojis) @avinashtiwary15 @imtiazaliofficial @preetyali #sajidali."
