President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Wednesday he will consult two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo to help the government implement necessary reforms to improve the country's sports program and develop more world-class athletes.
Marcos asks Yulo for advice on how to increase PH's chances at the Olympics
Marcos made the statement days after Yulo's historic double gold medal win in the artistic gymnastics category at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
According to the president, the gymnastics sensation is the “best person” to help the government improve its sports development program.
He added that he is exploring what additional incentives the Office of the President can offer Yulo as money and other donations from various government and private institutions pile up for the gymnastics prodigy.
