Thirty years after ER set the tone, doctor-themed shows are still a top choice for viewers, with established favorites like Grey's Anatomy and Chicago Med still going strong. So we decided to do a little research to see which ones are the most realistic, including checking out some off-air shows like the aforementioned ER and The Resident.
From doctors doing the work of nurses to surgeons with an impossibly wide range of specialties, creative license is being taken. Given these medical inaccuracies, we ranked 10 popular hospital shows on a scale of 1 (totally unrealistic) to 10 (doctor-approved).
