UPDATE: An online rally by White Dudes for Harris has raised more than $4 million for Kamala Harris' campaign. A mix of vice presidential candidates, labor leaders and Hollywood celebrities tried to tap into the Democrats' newfound enthusiasm in a surprising way.

At the virtual YouTube event, JJ Abrams contributed $50,000, while the likes of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Groban, Bradley Whitford, Rory O'Malley, Paul Scheer, Adam Conover, Sean Astin, Michael Kelly, Lance Bass, Tim Daly and Josh Gad made appearances. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the appearance of Jeff Bridges, "The Dude" from The Big Lebowski.
“I'm white, I'm a guy, and I'm for Harris,” Bridges said.
According to organizers, about 65,000 people watched the broadcast, with more than 190,000 people tuning in at any given time.
