In Joker 2: Folie a Deaux, fans will see Arthur Fleck go on trial for the cold-blooded murders he committed in the first film. The film will also shed some light on the identity of Joker and whether he was a different character altogether.
In the courtroom, as his lawyers try to prove that it was not Fleck but his alternate personality, the Joker, who committed the murders, Fleck feels the guilt building upon him. So, in the defining moments of the trial, Arthur Fleck abandons his Joker persona and confesses that he is solely responsible for the murders. Shortly after Fleck's confession, Lee Quinzel, aka Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn, abandons him and leaves the courtroom as a car bomb explodes.
