Pamela Smart recalls her husband's murder investigation l Nightline
Pamela Smart, a former high school employee, made headlines after she conspired with her teenage student/lover to murder her husband, Gregory Smart, in 1990. She was convicted of accessory to murder. The 56-year-old is now serving a life sentence without parole, having been incarcerated for more than 30 years.
According to NBC Boston, Pamela Smart is currently booked into Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Westchester County, New York. During her time behind bars, she has earned three master's degrees and a doctorate in ministry. In addition to teaching her fellow inmates, Pamela is an ordained minister and has served on an inmate liaison committee.
The former high school media coordinator was 22 when she had an affair with a 15-year-old boy, CBS News reported. The teen shot and killed Gregory Smart in Derry, New Hampshire. Although Pamela denied plotting the crime, authorities convicted Smart of complicity in first-degree murder. Over the years, she has made several attempts to appeal her sentence. Smart previously said she would never admit to the crime. However, Pamela Smart recently admitted her role in her husband's murder in a new video.
