In April 2024, Sohee posted a handwritten letter to her fans, colleagues, acquaintances and friends on her official Instagram account. In the letter, she revealed the news of her retirement. She further informed fans that she had met a man who is very dear to her and that she wants to marry him.
Sohee wrote in the letter: "Now I will live my second life as So-hee, not Alice So-hee. No matter how much you love me, I will live happily without any worries. Thank you for all the love you gave me during my activities in the entertainment industry. I was very happy. This heart will never forget it and be grateful for it all my life!"
