Elon Musk's neck scar is the result of an injury he sustained at his Japanese birthday party in 2013. According to Walter Isaacson's book Elon Musk, Musk's ex-wife, Talulah Riley, threw a Japanese birthday party to celebrate his 42nd birthday. The party was held at a castle in Tarrytown, New York. It featured a sumo match, with a samurai-clad Musk taking on a 350-pound sumo wrestling champion. During their bout, Musk attempted a "judo throw" with great force, ultimately injuring a disk in his neck.
