The creators of the One Piece anime recently announced a long hiatus, meaning that no new episodes will be released until the hiatus is over. While this isn’t the first time the anime has gone on hiatus, fans have been bombarding social media asking when One Piece will return with brand new episodes.

The announcement of the One Piece anime was posted on X via the account managed by staff of creator Eiichiro Oda.
The tweet, which was originally made in Japanese and later translated to English, read: "In order to achieve even higher quality, the Egghead arc will be suspended until April 2025. Additionally, the airing time slot will change when the program resumes in April 2025."
According to a report from Comicbook.com, in a livestream event on YouTube, Toei Animation revealed that the hiatus was announced to give the animators time to refresh. According to Ryuta Koike, who is the main producer of One Piece anime, the hiatus will help the animators improve and they will use this time "to make the anime even more powerful."
