Kirk Douglas Award – Ryan Gosling Acceptance Speech
Will Ferrell will be honored with the 17th annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Since 2006, the award has been given to a lifetime contributor to cinema through their work in front of or behind the camera. This is the third time since Douglas' death that the honor has been given.
The prestigious award, which benefits the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's year-round educational programs, is presented to the comedian and actor of "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," "Barbie," "Step Brothers," "The Office" and many others. Ferrell's Netflix documentary "Will & Harper" premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
