Vermiglio new clip official – Venice Film Festival 2024 – 1/2
For Maura Delpero, director of “Vermiglio”, winning the Silver Lion, the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, is a dream born from a dream.
The drama is set in an Alpine village at the end of World War II, where the arrival of a soldier disrupts the dynamic between three sisters. "Vermiglio" marks Delpero's follow-up to "Maternal," set in an Argentine refuge for teenage mothers run by nuns that made a splash on the festival circuit.
Venice jury president Isabelle Huppert praised “Vermiglio” for being a war story in which you never see war. “It’s like having a great off-screen subject, but you only see what’s happening through a small eye, through the handle of a door,” she noted at a press conference.
