Senate President Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada on Thursday (August 8) filed a resolution honoring Filipino boxer Nesthy Petecio for winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.

“Petecio embodied a tireless pursuit of excellence, and many years of hard work and intensive training since she started competing in the sport in 2007 with her mantra of ‘walang hinto hangga’t walang ginto,” he stated.
Estrada stressed in Senate Resolution No. 1122 that Petecio deserves the Senate Medal of Excellence after winning the bronze medal in the 57 kilogram class in women's boxing in Paris.
“The two-time Olympic medalist has proven to be a world-class athlete as she has consistently brought pride to the country with her strong performances in the ring,” Estrada said.
