CM Punk, Drew McIntyre and Seth “Freakin” Rollins' intense showdown: Raw, August 5, 2024
At the WWE Clash at the Castle in Scotland, Punk, who was serving as referee, cost McIntyre another shot at the world title. After the show, commentator Wade Barrett expressed his frustration with Punk's actions during the post-show, berating both WWE and Punk for not addressing his constant interference in McIntyre's matches. Barrett even suggested that WWE should fire Punk.
Additionally, Drew McIntyre was entered into the men's Money in the Bank. After securing the men's Money in the Bank briefcase, he cashed in the championship match between Damian Priest and Seth Rollins. However, CM Punk interfered again and attacked him, costing McIntyre another shot at the title.
In the post-show of Money in the Bank, Jackie Redmond asked commentator Wade Barrett for his thoughts on the attack. Although clearly frustrated, Barrett simply said that he had already made his feelings clear about Punk's constant interference at Clash at the Castle, where he suggested WWE fire Punk. This response suggested that Barrett may be running out of patience with Punk's actions.
