UPDATE ON AJ STYLES' INJURIES: STYLES ANNOUNCES LISFRANC'S INJURIES!
After losing to Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle, Styles stayed away from WWE. While he was absent from WWE programming, he actively participated in WWE live events. He also competed in Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he defeated Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH Destination 2024 in July.
After his long absence from WWE, Styles returned to WWE on the October 4 episode of SmackDown. However, his return was stalled when Carmelo Hayes interrupted him during a promo. Their verbal exchange led to a match between the two.
Things took a turn for the worse when AJ Styles injured his foot, causing the match to be stopped. He showed up backstage on crutches, which initially seemed like part of a storyline. However, later reports from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer confirmed that Styles had indeed suffered a legitimate injury. He was set to begin his retirement tour, but his foot injury delayed that.
