Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. said Saturday (August 10) that he has fired a prison guard who was arrested during an operation against illegal drugs in Paranaque City.

“As I said earlier, we will not tolerate misfits within our agency as we intensify our efforts to purge the agency of misguided personnel who refuse to heed our call to mend their ways and change for the better,” Catapang said.
The BuCor chief said he has dismissed Prison Guard 1 Paul Patrick Toledo, who is assigned to the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.
Catapang ordered Toledo's immediate dismissal after the prison guard was arrested Friday night (August 9) during a buying and selling operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Parañaque City.
